Dental Prosthesis: the optimal prosthesis is planned together
by the patient, dentist and dental technician, thus masticatory function
is restored and the prosthesis will have a natural appearance.
It is important to know with a prosthesis, that nearly always a days
grace is required in order to get used to them, therefore there is
no need to worry if initially they feel a bit uncomfortable.
Thanks to the ever evolving dental techniques several million people
in the world wear partial or full dentures, with the help of which
the eating, speech and social difficulties caused by missing teeth
are solved without any problems. Please do not forget, that wearing
prosthesis also requires regular dental check ups and advice.
Guarantee: The metal part of the prosthesis comes with a technical guarantee.
It is only valid, if material or structural fault occurs during
normal use, and if the patient regularly visits my surgery for a
check-up free of charge every six months.
The guarantee in case of prosthesis is 3 years, for fillings 1 year.
No guarantee applies to temporary filling or temporary crown.

Crown: if the function of the tooth (chewing,
aesthetics) cannot be repaired by filling, then the dentist
recommends a dental crown. It can be made of: metallic alloy
+ porcelain, gold + porcelain, or only porcelain.
Metallic alloy + porcelain: Porcelain is baked
on the metallic alloy using a dental technique. The metallic
alloy makes it possible to use them for the replacement of several
teeth. The most frequently used dental metallic alloy is not
a very expensive material, however it contains chrome, cobalt,
nickel, which in case of patients with metal allergy cannot
be used.
Gold + porcelain: e.g. telescopic crowns can only be created
from gold alloy due to the precise metal to metal joint. The
advantage of it is its workability and that it can be polished
effectively. It also can be used in patients with metal allergy.
Porcelain: a more aesthetic result is achievable by using
it. It only can be used for front teeth, if a single crown is
needed.
Completion time: 1 week

Bridge: A method for the replacement of
missing tooth or teeth. The piers of the bridge are the neighbouring
teeth. A bridge is a prosthesis made up of several crowns. Its
purpose is to restore the masticatory function, phonation and
aesthetics which became impaired due to the missing teeth.
Completion time: 1 week |
 |
Ceramic veneer: this is an aesthetic solution
for front teeth. By removing 0.5-1 mm from the external surface
of the tooth the dentist ensures a space for the ceramic veneers
to be bonded on. With the help of it, the colour and size differences
can be corrected, as well as closing the gaps between teeth.
Completion time: 3 days |
 |
Telescopic prosthesis: a good solution,
if most of the teeth are missing. This is prosthesis without
hooks, which are held by telescopic joints. The telescopic prosthesis
is made up of two crowns that are fitting exactly into each
other. One of these is always glued into the mouth, the other
to the prosthesis. The tight fit of these two components ensure
secure fixing. The final result is most effective, if the metal
part of the crowns is made of gold alloy. Naturally the visible
crown can be covered by porcelain. It can be cleaned very easily.
Completion time: 2 weeks |
 |
Pinned crown: it often occurs that the
whole of the crowned section of the tooth is missing, and in
these cases the dentist builds a pin into the root canal of
the tooth. This provides the base of the structure, onto which
the crown is glued. The pin is a pre-fabricated titanium pin,
in contact with live tissues.
Completion time: 1 week |
 |
Combined prosthesis: it is a prosthesis
made up from two parts. One part is fixed, the other removable.
The fixing is done by invisible slides or by a ball joint press-stud.
It is most frequently used, when only the front teeth are left
and the molars are missing.
Metallic alloy + porcelain: Porcelain is baked onto the
metallic alloy by dental technique. The metallic alloy makes
it possible to apply them for the replacement of several teeth.
The most frequently used dental metallic alloy is not very expensive
material, however it contains chrome, cobalt, nickel, which
in case of patients with metal allergy cannot be used.
Gold+ porcelain: e.g. telescopic crowns can only be created
from gold alloy due to the precise metal to metal joint. The
advantage of it is its workability and that it can be polished
effectively. It also can be used in patient with metal allergy.
Porcelain: a more aesthetic result is achievable by using
it. It only can be used for front teeth, if only a single crown
is needed.
Completion time: 2 weeks |
 |
Full dental prosthesis: if the patient
has lost all their teeth, full denture/prosthesis can provide
the solution. It appears natural, and as it is removable it
is easy to clean. The material of it is acrylate.
Completion time: 1 week |
 |
Inlay: it is a filling that is made in
a dental technical laboratory, which can be made of ceramic
or gold alloy. It is recommended if the decay has spread to
the gap between the teeth. By applying it, the contact points
can be restored in the gap between the teeth, ensuring a tight
fit between the relief surfaces of healthy teeth. The function
of this is not to allow food fibres to stick between the teeth
during eating.
Ceramic: it is aesthetically pleasing, can be made to
match teeth colouring, however it is more vulnerable to damage
than gold.
Gold: the edges can be polished following placement into
the mouth, and with this the gap between the inlay and tooth
can be decreased.
Completion time: 1 week |
 |
Implantation: This is a fixture of titanium that is
directly attached to the jawbone, which following healing
is anchored, and the prosthesis can be built on it. It is
recommended in cases, when the patient would like a fixed
solution in place of a removable one. In some cases the stability
of the removable prosthesis can be greatly increased, or in
the case of only one missing tooth, the neighbouring healthy
teeth do not need to be ground.
The dental surgeon decides based on the condition of the teeth,
general medical examination (laboratory test, internal pathology),
as well as on panoramic X-ray photos whether it is possible
to use implants in each individual case. If there are no problems,
a specialist performs the operation.
Stitches are normally taken out in 7-10 days. The final prosthesis
can be made about 4- 6 months later, which in case of a fixed
bridge takes 1 week, in the case of a combined prosthesis
it will take two weeks to complete.

Teeth retention treatments:
Aesthetic filling: it is made with a composite filling material
which sets by exposure to light. It can be made in a choice of colours
to match existing teeth. It is recommended in cases, when the loss
of teeth is minimal, and the anatomical shape of the tooth can be
restored with it.
Root treatment: during this treatment the dentist cleans
the root canal of inflamed or dead teeth and fills it up with root
filling. The tooth is set securely into the jaw after the treatment
as before, however it dries out with time and may crack, this is
why it is recommended to cover it with a crown.
